This is K's and M's science site about Volcanoes
We love to learn about volcanoes in our science class. We are learning about cinder cone volcanoes, shield volcanoes, composite volcanoes, lava, magma, lava plateaus, volcano necks, dikes, sills, Ring of fire, volcanoes, Island arc, volcanic landforms, calderas, batholith, and hot spot.
Cinder Cone Volcanoes
This is a photograph of a cinder cone volcano. Cinder cone volcanoes are a steep, coned- shaped hill or mountain. When the volcano erupts the lava is thick. Also, when the volcano erupts it can produce ash, cinders, and bombs.

Shield Volcanoes
Shield volcanoes are volcanoes that are on some places on Earth's surface. With thin layer of lava that pours out of the volcano and makes a hard top of previous layers of lava. It's also, a sloping volcano that are mostly spotted in Hawaii. The picture below will show what it looks like when it erupts.

Composite Volcanoes
Composite volcanoes are volcanoes that has a lava flow when it erupts. They are tall volcanoes, almost like a coned shaped mountain. It contain layers of lava and ash.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/earth/natural_disasters/volcano This is the link to bottom picture is this one right here. This is a volcano that has erupted and lava and magma is coming out.
http://www.windows2universe.org/earth/interior/composite_volcanos.html This is the link for the first image. That image is an active volcano because there it has smoke on the top.
Lava
Lava is the second hottest thing in the world compared to the sun.

Magma
Magma is a type of lava that it is thick and extremely hot like lava and the sun. This is the link to the image above. http://www.aucklandmuseum.com/whats-on/exhibitions/volcanoes/volcanic-forces/magma-and-lava . The picture above has magma when it hardened and when it flows.
Lava Plateaus
Lava plateaus are high leveled lava formed by several long cracks in an area of the mountain. This is the link to the lava plateau above http://rockingcycle.weebly.com/igneous-rock.html . It has a little of information about lava plateaus. http://factsanddetails.com/world/cat51/sub323/item1313.html is the website for the image below. This image shows a lava plateau in Hawaii that erupted.
