HI WERE AER THE KBT GROUP AND WE ARE VERY EXCITED THAT OUR SCIENCE TEACHER IS LETTING US DO THIS PROJECT ON OUR VERY OWN SITE!!!
A volcano is a weak spot in the crust where magma comes up to the surface. Inside of a volcano is magma. Magma is a very hot molten material. When the magma reaches the surface it is called lava. When lava cools it turns into rock. There is also many other things beside volcanos. There are also volcanic landforms. Volcanos are what create volcanic landforms as you might guess. Below are the following volcanic landforms, lava plateaus, calderas, composite volcanoes, cinder cone volcanoes and a shield volcano. There is also the ring of fire. Now we will tell you about landforms made by magma. First it is a dike, a dike forms when magma forces itself to go across layers of rocks. It hardens itself then turns in to a dike. Next is a volcanic neck, a volcanic neck looks like a giant jagged rock that is sticking in the ground. It forms when magma hardens inside a volcanoes pipe. A pipe is where the magma comes out of a volcano. There is also a sill, a sill is formed when magma squeezes between layers of rough rock. There is also batholiths and dome mountains. A batholith is the center or core of a mountain range and a dome mountain is a mountain that is shaped like a dome, almost like a football dome!
Here is a volcano erupting in Iceland we got this picture from this site.http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/earth/natural_disasters/volcano
This picture is showing a volcano erupting with very, very, very hot lava spewing out of its magma chamber. We put this on our website because it is showing a real volcano erupting in its full power. Also we picked this because it shows a amazing volcano and it is a mind blowing sight.
This is a lava plateau. We got it from this website :https://gcps.desire2learn.com/d2l/lor/viewer/viewFile.d2lfile/15538/7353/PLATES3_print.html-
A lava plateau is a certain volcanic landform. It is a very hateau formed from lava. The way it forms is 7 cracks form in an area. Next the lava flows far and then solidify's. This process repeats itself for many years creating lava plateaus. In a way a lava plateau is like a mountain.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyT8Xs6Ab-k this picture is lyrics for a song on youtube and it can help you under stand volcanos,
and how the continents move . Also pangea was a massive land mass that broke apart into the continents we know today.

This is a picture of a Caldera. We got it from.....http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Caldera_Mt_Tambora_Sumbawa_Indonesia.jpg A Caldera is a massive mountain that has lava and ash inside. It is formed when a volcano erupts and the magma chamber is empty. Next the top of the volcano collapses. The massive hole left is called a Caldera.
This is a shield volcano. We got it from this site. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shield_volcano A shield volcano is a wide sloping mountain. Shield volcanos at the bottom of the ocean floor created the Hawaian Islands. Shield volcanoes can also be located on a hot spot.
This is a cinder cone volcano. It is cone shaped, steap hill volcano. This volcano may produce, ash, cinder, and bombs. We got this picture from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinder_cone
This a picture of the ring of fire. The ring of fire is a big line or a big group of volcanos all together. The Ring of Fire is a area where a large numbers of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur in the basin of the Pacific Ocean. In a 40,000 km
(25,000 mi) horseshoe shape, it is associated with a nearly continuous
series of oceanic trenches, volcanic arcs, and volcanic belts and/or plate movements. It has 452
volcanoes and is were 75% of the world's active and dormant volcanoes.[1]
It is sometimes called the circum-Pacific belt or the circum-Pacific
seismic belt.

This is a hot spot. We got it from........http://www.studyblue.com/notes/note/n/chapter-7-volcanoes/deck/2072420..... A hot spot is a place where magma deep in the core melts through the crust. A hot spot lies far away from plate boundaries. Also it is not made from the process of subduction.
This is a picture of a composite volcano. We got it from this site.http://cheifaqua2.wikispaces.com/Composite+Volcanoes A composite volcano is a tall mountain that is shaped like a cone. It also has many layers of lava and ash.
Catch a glimpse of the remarkable world of volcanoes!
This is a slideshow of erupting volcanoes that will show how amazing volcanoes can be!
THIS IS A PICTURE OF LAVA FOLWING REALLY FAST.,AND IN THE BACKGROUND AS YOU CAN SEE THERE IS A BIG VOLCANO ERUPTING.THERE IS A 2 IN 1 PICTURE!!!!!!!
